Logo use for schools, departments, centers, programs and institutes
Merchandise for schools, departments, centers, programs, and institutes should use approved University branding. Institutional Marks are preferred—especially for items used externally—to ensure consistency and strengthen brand recognition.
For a complete list of approved vendors, please visit the Pitt Internal Licensing Page.

| Informal Mark Informal marks may be used for internal audiences (e.g., students, alumni) and must include “University of Pittsburgh” for clarity. Sub-brand informal marks for units below the school level (e.g., offices, departments) are only allowed on small items such as pens and accessories; they are not allowed on apparel. When space is limited, “University of Pittsburgh” may be omitted. | ![]() |
| Office or Department-specific Merchandise The Institutional mark must appear prominently (top/center), with the department name below it, followed by the school or college. | ![]() |
| Pitt Script The Spirit Mark is the official logo of Pitt Athletics and is a registered mark of the University. Outside of Athletics, it functions as the nonacademic spirit mark.
